The union does not want to accept forclosure of "Krivaja 1884"

President of the Union of enterprises "Krivaja 1884", Vehbija Aličić told Fena, that despite the announcement that the majority owner of 1. February production reduced to a minimum with the intention to abandon the project agreed with the Government of FBiH,major number of workers of the company this morning called on business. "It encourages the increasing number of people still on the job and performs its activities in order to ensure payment of wages for December and January. The announcement of the termination of the project Krivaja 1884 for us is shocking and unacceptable. We do not want to believe that the current government will take to save more than 1900 jobs, and indeed the whole Zavidovići living from this enterprise", says Aličić.

Bosnian woodsector companies to visit furniture fair IMM-Cologne, Germany

Organized by the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH VTK) small delegation of representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina will visit the International Furniture Fair IMM-Cologne, Germany. It is an international fair of furniture, which this year takes place from 19-23 of January. Who is SIPPO?

SIPPO Swiss Import Promotion Programme is the import promotion programme under the patronage of SECO, the State Secretariat for the Economy of the Swiss government. It supports private businesses in countries in transition that are endeavouring to access the Swiss and the EU markets. The program's services include business branch-related market information, technical assistance for product's design and marketing, promotion in Switzerland and the EU as well as a support at selected leading international trade fairs.

What is this project about?

Aiming for an intensive export promotion strategy to ensure the sustainability of the export process on a micro and meso level, SIPPO starts a new project "Improve Export of Wood for industrial purposes and Furniture in Bosnia and Herzegovina".

The plan within the project phase 2009 - 2011 is to achieve a sustainable export growth of certain number of qualified companies from these sectors by creating a long term business relationships between local BIH and international producers, customers and business service providers.

The project anticipates involvement of selected local and international business service providers in the strategically planned trade improvement process in favour of a limited selected group of wood processors and furniture producers.

SIPPO, the Swiss Import Promotion Programme, organizes in BH the procurement mission for three Swiss wood product and furniture producers and distributors. The representatives of companies Luond, Hiag and Jutzler will on Tuesday, June 2nd in BHEPA agency premisses in Sarajevo meet representatives of 22 BH woodprocessors and furniture producers. They will have s.c. direct B2B meetings.

Swissbau 2010 trade show January 12, 2010

On January 12, 2010 in Basel, Switzerland the next Swissbau will be opened. Two exhibitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina are exhibiting supported by Swiss agency SIPPo from Zurich. Totally 1,300 exhibitors from 35 different countries are exhibiting on ca. 140,000 sq. meters show area.
